The porcelain steel writing surface on our magnetic dry erase boards is a mid-gloss surface and it can be considered to be a projection quality, magnetic dry erase board.
The image will not be as clear as a pull-down projection screen but will work fine for most classroom and training room situations.
A number of variables that may determine or affect how well projecting onto a dry erase surface will work including ambient lighting, the brightness of your projector, the size of the board, the size of the room or the configuration of the room.
Another major factor is the angle that you project onto the boards. Try not to project straight into the board but either from a lower or higher position. This deflects any bright spot either up or down and gives a better image. With all of the uncontrollable factors you may still experience what is called a hot spot from some angles in the room and that person may need to move in order to see the board more clearly.
The solid oak framed whiteboards have the same writing surface as our aluminum framed models but a unsurpassed 2" Red Oak Trim with mortise-tenon corners on two sides and full-length 2-1/4" red oak pen tray standard. The magnetic dry erase boards that are 3'x4' or smaller come with a 1 1/4" face trim and the marker tray is 1 1/4" in depth. All trims and trays come with a clear lacquer finish.
The oak framed dry erase boards are also available with a rich mahogany finish. These mahogany stained oak wood dry erase boards are not quick ship items and because they are custom... they would not be returnable. Lead-time is about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks to leave the factory.
The custom maple framed dry erase boards have a frame that is 2" wide x 1" thick with a high gloss polyurethane finish and each marker board comes with a full-length 2 1/4" deep x 3/4" thick maple tray. Magnetic receptive porcelain steel writing surface on 1/2" particle board with a vapor barrier backing. Lead time again is about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks.
Boards shipped in multiple sections like our SP units are done by connecting the sections with white painted H-Bars. Boards over 16' are created by connecting multiple sections of board again with white painted H-Bars. For instance our OPTIMA-184 is created using 3 sections of 6' whiteboards connected with 2 white painted H-bars. Our OptiMA-204 is created with 2 sections of 10' connected with 1 white painted H-bar in the center of the unit.
A magnetic dry erase board does not mean that the dry erase board is itself a magnetic but that the writing surface is made on steel and the steel allows you to use magnetics and magnetic accessories. Magnetic whiteboards will not interfere with any computers or other electrical systems in your office.
You can add a 1" cork strip at the top of the boards called a map rail for free. This strip can be helpful especially in classrooms or anywhere when you want to tack items to the top of your boards versus using a magnet or tape. Tape residue is difficult to remove from your boards and can ruin the writing surface.
You now have the option of shipping your dry erase boards without a marker tray. Note however that if you select this option that your board will not ship out as a quick ship item. These boards are custom made for you and will take 10-12 working days to produce.
