Q
Will a quart be sufficient for approximately 40 sq ft.

Hi John,

A quart should be sufficient enough for 40 sq ft and some more. Typically one quart of paint will cover 100 sq ft. If you have any more questions, please call us at (866)-366-1500, and our customer service team would love to help you.

Roger Murphy from Olancha Calif. asked:

Q
Can this material be sprayed on a surface with an air brush ??
Answer
We have heard of customers successfully watering down our Magnetic Receptive Primer and using in paint sprayers. However, we do not have any direct experience doing this, so we cannot recommend it.

Chris High from Lincoln Nebraska asked:

Q
Can you paint over this product with a white base coat and the a coat of

clear or white dry erase paint?

Answer

Hello,

You certainly can, but please note that the more coats you add over the magnetic receptive paint, the lower the magnetic receptivity you're going to get. So I would advise you to maybe do a test swatch beforehand!

Jeri Burbank from MI asked:

Q
How many coats would I need to apply for a good magnetic base?  I recently read 6, would that be addequate?
Answer

Hello! Apply at least two coats, but definitely not as many as 6. Past a certain point it won't make a difference. Between coats you can test the magnetic receptivity with a magnet before you add another. I hope this helps!

Have a great day!

Alisa Link from Texas asked:

Q
Is the paint clear? I want to paint over a laminated map of USA and be able to place souvenir magnets on the states. Will this work with this product?
Answer
Hello!

No, the primer is a dark gray, almost black, so I'm not sure it would work for your intended application.

Have a great day!

Jarrod Becker from Kentucky asked:

Q
Can I adhere a sticky back vinyl over the Opti-MagPrime and it still be magnetic?
Answer
Hello,

I personally would not recommend it. We only recommend regular wall paint over this product, anything thicker will cause magnetic receptivity to be lost.

Have a great day!
