What to Do if Your Shipment Arrives Damaged

Follow these four steps to ensure a smooth resolution.

  • 1. Inspect the shipment — before signing the delivery paperwork (BOL), carefully check all items and packaging for any damage.
  • 2. Mark the BOL — if you find any damage, no matter how small, clearly write the word Damaged on the BOL.
  • 3. Take photos — take at least five clear photos of the damaged product and its packaging. Show both the damaged packaging and the damaged product clearly.
  • 4. File a claim — scan the QR code on the shipping label to begin the claims process, or file a claim in your account at /file-claim. A customer success representative will contact you with next steps.

Coverage Scenarios

How the Freight Guarantee combines with marking the BOL on delivery, in four scenarios:

  • Freight Guarantee YES + BOL signed Damaged YES — ideal scenario: free replacement shipped immediately. Plus, receive a $49.95 coupon making the Freight Guarantee free.
  • Freight Guarantee YES + BOL signed Damaged NO — we will still ship a free replacement board, even though the damage wasn't documented.
  • Freight Guarantee NO + BOL signed Damaged YES — we will still send you a free replacement.
  • Freight Guarantee NO + BOL signed Damaged NO — this can make it very difficult to get a replacement. Your claim may not be honored.
