Hi Traci, Magnets will indeed stick to the surface of this item, like all of our printed magnets.  And when you mount the music magnet on a magnetic receptive surface, like a porcelain steel whiteboard, they will stick even better.  So I think this will work perfectly for your intended purpose.  But let us know if we can elaborate.
