This self-adhesive material makes an excellent solution for resurfacing old or worn out chalkboards or dry erase boards. Opti-Rite® Mag™ SA has a bright white, super glossy dry erase writing surface that erases clean and doesn't stain. In addition, the adhesive is super strong and reduces bubbling issues. I ordered a roll of this to put in our playroom. I had turned some store bough chalkboards into whiteboards for my kids using the whiteboard paint, but it did not work very well. So I ordered this and cut it out and stuck it over the painted boards and now it works great. The kids can even wipe off the dry erase themselves now.

This product's adhesive is a permanent adhesive. With the additional weight of the ferrous material that makes it magnetic receptive, it needs a strong adhesive.

One was Opti-Rite Lite which wasn't really what we are looking for, the other I believe is may be Opti-Rite Easy. See the pictured sample if that helps to identify.
The sample is semi rigid, magnetic and self-adhesive. The partition we are looking to cover is 56" x 56" which is just under 5 square feet.
The interesting part is she wasn't sure if it would hold up on fabric and obviously this is not a full sheet, but it seems to be working even after a recent office rearrangement.
If we did 2 six-foot rolls and cut to size, do you think that would be our best option? And am I thinking this is the correct product?

As for your second question, this product has heavy duty adhesive backing that is developed to help the sheet stay on the wall for years. Hi Sally, thanks for your question! This product should be applied to a smooth, painted non-porous surface. It has a heavy-duty semi-permanent adhesive and is made to last without any peeling for years. You can definitely strip it from a wall painted with vinyl paint in the future, but you may need to sand a repaint parts of your wall. I hope that helps!

Unfortunately, this wall is too textured for an adequate application. Since it is not smooth, applying the wallpaper will create air pockets, which will dry out the adhesive over time. Then it runs the risk of falling off the wall.
Instead, I recommend a traditional board, such as a Low Profile Magnetic Dry Erase Board or a Great White Magnetic Whiteboard.Â

Unfortunately, this wall is too textured for an adequate application. Since it is not smooth, applying the wallpaper will create air pockets, which will dry out the adhesive over time. Then it runs the risk of falling off the wall.
Instead, I recommend a traditional board, such as a Low Profile Magnetic Dry Erase Board or a Great White Magnetic Whiteboard.
